Come Teach in One of the World’s Great Soaring Sites
Minden Soaring Club is seeking enthusiastic and safety-oriented glider instructors to help grow our instructional and soaring programs at Minden Tahoe Airport in beautiful Carson Valley, Nevada.
Minden is internationally known for mountain wave soaring, cross-country flying, and a vibrant soaring community. We are looking for people who are passionate about aviation, mentoring pilots, and helping build the future of soaring.
Whether you are:
- An experienced Glider CFI
- A retired or semi-retired instructor looking for meaningful involvement
- An experienced soaring pilot interested in becoming a CFI-G
- An Airplane CFI interested in transitioning into gliders

Position Options
We are flexible and open to several arrangements, including:
- Full-time seasonal instructor (approximately April–October)
- Seasonal or part-time instructor
- Flexible year-round involvement
- Instructor-in-training pathway for qualified candidates
For the right candidate, the club may assist with:
- Relocation
- Instructor development
- CFI-G transition support
- Seasonal housing coordination

Desired Qualifications
Ideal candidates may possess some or all of the following:
Preferred
- FAA Certificated Flight Instructor – Glider (CFI-G)
- Prior glider instructional experience
- Strong safety mindset
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
- Ability to work well in a club environment
Also Considered
- High-time soaring pilots interested in earning CFI-G
- Airplane CFIs interested in glider transition
- Retired or semi-retired aviation professionals
- Seasonal instructors seeking a premier soaring location
Compensation
This is a mission-driven soaring club environment rather than a high-paying commercial operation. Compensation will depend on experience, availability, and role structure.
We aim to build arrangements that work well for both the instructor and the club, including flexible scheduling and seasonal opportunities.
