We have been looking for a way to add more support facilities near our glider staging area. Linda Mae Hivert and the Sport Aviation Foundation worked with the George W. Gillemot Foundation to raise funds for it. Bob Trumbly took the lead to procure it. Steve Sliwa and Bruce Campbell flew Bob and Jim Lee to Central California in Steve’s Vision Jet to check out some options. Bob then worked with Jim Lee and others to prepare it for installation.
It’s prime purposes are to provide rest room and an air-conditioned office on site. Because it is a movable trailer, it gives us options in locating it.
We are thankful to the George W. Gillemot Foundation, the Sport Aviation Foundation, and our airport manager, Heather MacDonald, for giving us the flexibility to do this.
